Ukwazi Nursing School- Potchefstroom Campus Courses, Requirements, How to Apply and Contacts

Ukwazi School of Nursing has been accredited by the Council on Higher Education for the new qualifications. The Department of Higher Education and Training as well as the South African Nursing Council must however still complete their processes. Ukwazi have main Campus in Roodepoort.


Ukwazi Pty Ltd offers a programme for the training of health care assistants which is accredited by the Health & Welfare SETA (it is not regulated by the South African Nursing Council). This programme has been re-developed to serve as a Bridging Course to the new nursing qualifications if you do not have Life Sciences as a subject on your National Senior Certificate.  The course will still equip students with the required skills and competencies to find employment in the health care industry.

Programmes:


  • Diploma in Nursing: Staff Nurse which will lead to registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Staff Nurse and which is a 3 year programme.
  • Higher Certificate in Auxiliary Nursing which will lead to registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Auxiliary Nurse and which is a 1 year programme.

How to Apply:


The School will commence taking applications for admission once it is registered and accredited to offer the new nursing qualifications.  An Information Brochure which explains the dates of all intakes; fees payable; course content; etc will be available at the offices. Application forms can be obtained through fax, email, postal mail or personal collection.  Applicants are invited to contact nearby campus of choice – Roodepoort or Potchefstroom for further information.

Future updates about the commencement date of applications for admission to the new qualifications will be available on Ukwazi website as soon as the School is officially accredited by SANC.
